Each year, we host a variety of events including performances, both at the Creation Space and other locations in the Borough, exhibitions, and interactive children's shows.

A variety of classes and workshops are also held at the Creation Space.

Our new production THE LAW OF MAYHEM by amazing playwright @tabbytslur will be premiering at The Haymarket @anvil_arts from 18th-20th September 2025 before touring venues in 2026!!

We are so proud to be creating a show about the remarkable true story rooted in our hometown of Basingstoke, of trans trailblazers Roberta Cowell and Michael Dillon. Their extraordinary lives became deeply intertwined, and with the help of surgeon Harold Gillies, they left a lasting mark on history, paving the way for generations to follow.

“It’s extraordinary, isn’t it? That we should find each other.”

The year is 1949, and Roberta Cowell; racing driver, RAF pilot and ‘It’ girl, meets Michael Dillon; a ship's doctor who pursued Buddhism into the high Himalayas. Together they will change the course of British transgender history. Yet after just three short years, they never speak again.
Separated by time and space, Michael and Roberta meet for one last impossible encounter, to find out if the thing that brought them together was the same thing that broke them apart - The Law of Mayhem.

IT'S PARADE WEEK!
Today we have had some brilliant digital media students from @peter_symonds_college in the building doing work experience in a real community arts centre. Some of the students are also studying videography, graphics, art, costume and makeup and health and social care alongside media, so we have put their skills to good use, using marketing tools like @canva and @mailchimp to help create campaigns.
Another group worked through our costume store to organise things for the parade and future productions and another group have been designing and creating large scale puppets for Friday's @bstokefestival parade!!!

This project has been put together by @scratchbuiltproductions @y.b.creative with support from Proteus @aceagrams
