Audience Forum

There are lots of ways to get involved and participate with Proteus.

From our popular youth theatre and adult theatre groups – for those with a passion for performing, directing or other aspects of theatre production - to our brand new audience feedback group, which we are currently setting up to help us shape the future of our programming. If you would be interested in getting involved, get in touch to find out more and attend an informal session with the team.

We also host a wide range of regular classes and workshops, if visual arts, singing or health and wellbeing interest you.

We are also always keen to hear from people interested in volunteering, especially for our outdoor Summer Shakespeare performances, to help distribute our marketing material locally or for future participatory or community events.

For a more regular involvement with Proteus, we are always keen to hear from people who would be interested in joining our board.

The Proteus Audience Forum

Join our Audience forum

Proteus is seeking expressions of interest from our existing and future audiences to help us shape the future of our programming within the Creation Space, and to better reach those communities who would like to engage in different ways with everything the arts has to offer.

We are setting up the Proteus Audience forum as a chance to really listen to the needs and opinions of our audiences, with a real ambition to serve them better. As a cultural hub in the heart of Basingstoke we want to make it as easy as possible for local people to access The Creation Space, whether this is steered by the programme of events offered, how we engage and promote within communities, when and how we program and (where possible) to remove as many barriers to entry - but we need your help to move in the right direction!

Our first meeting is a chance to find out a bit more about our plans, specifically focussing on our family programming and will take place on Thursday June 29th from 6-7pm. The event is open to anyone who is interested in family theatre or events, regardless of whether you have attended event here in the past.

Come and join our team for a relaxed guided discussion and feedback session. You are welcome to attend with your children as Becky from Scratchbuilt will keep the kids entertained with crafts and fun whilst you share your ideas and feedback.

The Proteus Audience Forum will be mutually beneficial for both those participating .
  • Free tickets to key performances throughout the year
  • Meeting up with like-minded people 2-3 times a year to critically engage with the work we make and present at the Creation Space.
  • Your name in our publicity as part of our audience forum group
  • Regular two-way engagement between cultural organisation and audience/participant
  • Make a real difference to the cultural landscape of your local community by helping our small (in terms of resource) team to create an accessible experience for all.
  • Have a hand in shaping the future of our programming
  • Additional benefits such as discounts in our cafe, early access to ticket release for events, opportunity to see work-in-progess shows from the UK's most innovative theatre-makers.
