In anticipation of opening night for The Law of Mayhem; Proteus Theatre’s newest show about the lives of Robert Cowell and Michael Dillon, (the first people in the UK to have had gender affirming surgeries), we’re hosting a trans community mixer!

Stop by for a relaxed evening of chatting, friend-making and light refreshments. You’ll also have the opportunity to speak with members of the team working on The Law of Mayhem about the show and find out more about this amazing but little known part of trans-history.

Plus as an ice-breaker, we’ll host a short quiz in the café, with the chance to win some free tickets to the show which premiers at the Haymarket, Basingstoke 18-20 September.

Across this week we'll be sharing some clips we filmed with the creative team working on the project, to give audiences an insight into the fascinating world of Michael and Roberta, and... why now is the perfect time to shed a light on their story.

We sat down with our fave @tabbytslur a she shares a little insight into the process of writing our new play The Law of Mayhem. An almost 3 year project, which included extensive research which included being able to read some of the letters that Michael sent to Roberta, she was able to get a deeper sense of these two trans trailblazers lives.
