The Proteans return to Basingstoke’s ‘best-kept secret’ the Walled Garden in Down Grange, for another of their popular performances of classic plays this July
The Proteans always bring a unique twist to their popular performances of classic plays, from a Bowie-inspired Puck in their most recent production of The Tempest, to an operatic interval during The Importance of Being Earnest !
Expect plenty of irreverent fun, silly songs, crazy costumes and the perfect setting for a summer evening with friends.
As ever, ticket holders are welcome to arrive up to 1 hour before the performance begins. We encourage you to bring a picnics and Prosecco to enjoy, while you soak up the atmosphere and experience the delight of some outdoor theatre!

£10 | £8 concessions + booking fee
Tickets can be purchased on the day at the gate. Gates open NO EARLIER than 1 hour than performance times for picnics and on the day ticket sales.
We do not send out physical tickets, your email confirmation is proof of booking. (Please check our spam folder if you can’t see a confirmation email from our ticketing partner, Ticket Source.)

Important information
- Please bring a camping chair or waterproof backed picnic blanket, as seating at the garden is highly limited.
- There will be the opportunity to buy on site refreshments including: Prosecco (bottle or by the glass), tea & coffee, soft drinks and ice creams.
- We cannot take card payments for tickets purchased on the door or for refreshments so please bring cash and ideally have small change available.
- A word to the wise; make sure you dress for the weather. When we advise to pack both a raincoat and sun cream, we really aren’t kidding… it’s been know for us to experience all four seasons during one performance, and the show will only be cancelled if there is a torrential rain! In the unlikely event of a cancellation your booking will be transferred to a rescheduled date.
