Comb journeys through Celtic, Slavic and Siberian folklore in a playful story of loss and discovery.
“I saw a banshee once, just outside of Galway….”
When Charlotte was 8 her Grandad told her the beginning of a story but refused to tell the full tale. Years later a chance encounter led her to, incredibly, find the rest of his story buried deep within an archive gathered from families in Ireland. Not only did she discover this unbelievable link to her past but also the more startling realisation that she might actually be cursed.
“These stories stay with you and make you see the everyday world differently”.

At times chilling, hilarious and moving Comb is a playful lament for the stories and people we have lost. Featuring sentient puddles, gods, mermaids and a healthy respect for nits the show takes a tangled ride into Celtic, Slavic and Siberian folklore, and is a clarion call for understanding just how interwoven we all are.
