Baby Hurts Workshop. Mums (of all ages) Wanted!
Are you a Mum?
Did you have a difficult pregnancy, birth or complications after birth?
Does your child have long term needs?
Was motherhood a different experience to the one you had anticipated?
Theatre-maker/ Director Alix Cazalet is keen to meet and chat with local mums, of any age, whose adventure into motherhood was not the fairytale they’d hoped for.
Alix is local theatre director developing a new musical, Baby Hurts, inspired by her own story of becoming a mum to a child with ongoing medical issues. It’s important that the show includes the experiences of other women, which will be woven into this story, so that we can shed light on this version of motherhood which is rarely discussed and seldom celebrated.
Alix will be holding workshops between May and July across Hampshire and Surrey, hopes that you will come along and share your stories in a safe, confidential and friendly space. There will be quizzes, games, questionnaires and cake! Please come along and support this project – your input will be invaluable in helping to bring our experiences into the spotlight.
Baby Hurts is intended to be an honest, funny, emotional and ultimately uplifting exploration of the hidden realities of parenthood and the way that we, as resourceful mums, adapt and innovate to create the best life for our children, despite the challenges.
Baby Hurts is an Arts Council funded project and there will be R&D public sharings on September 26th/27th at Farnham Maltings.
