Got No Strings - Puppetry Conference

Friday 18th March, 10:30am registration for 11am start

A puppet symposium

Now in its second year, Got No Strings is a dynamic puppet conference; creating a new hub for puppetry in the heart of Basingstoke and brought to you by Scratch Built Productions in association with Proteus Theatre Company.

Join us for a full day of master classes and talks with top-class makers, puppeteers and practitioners working within the industry today.

We believe that puppetry is an important art form that deserves to be recognised by the creative industries as a key player in performance art. Based on this belief, Got No Strings will feature a varied programme of master classes, discussions and debate with current industry professionals, culminating in a day that will inspire, encourage and promote networking between artists from across the country. Makers, performers, directors, teachers and programmers wanting to explore the full potential of what puppetry can bring to their future work are invited to take part in this conference.

Speakers include the Harlequin Award-winning puppetry legend Ronnie Le Drew (founder of London school of puppetry, Zippy from Rainbow, Little Angel), Penny Francis MBE (co-founded the Puppet Centre Trust), Neil Sterenberg (The Force Awakens, CBBC/ CBeebies), Roman Stefanski (Puppet director for Polka Theatre, Birmingham Stage, Nottingham playhouse) and Elfie Courcoult (international Giant Marionette Street theatre Company Royal De-Luxe).
