Walking Out
a comedy about the tragedy of two very English lives… and a dog
by Andrew G Marshall
Controversial planning applications, adultery and bad parking in the High Street. That's Lower Rosemount, where some villagers are so busy minding everybody else's business they sometimes overlook their own.
Margaret's sharp eye notices everything on her daily dog walk. But although Dash is always on his best behaviour, she can't be so sure about her husband.
Meanwhile, Howard's architect's firm is in crisis, with every solution setting him more at odds with Margaret.
As events unfold, where does the truth really lie in this tug-of-war of loyalties - an unfortunate sequence of misunderstandings or a far more complex mystery of infidelity and deceit?
Walking Out will tour to theatres, arts centres and non-theatre venues (e.g. village halls and community centres) throughout rural and urban Hampshire, Wiltshire, Surrey, Buckinghamshire, West Sussex and Hertfordshire during February, March and April 2004. It will also be showcasing at the Pride of Place Festival in Nottinghamshire in March 2004 as part of a celebration of regional touring theatre. To view performances in your area click here.
Suitable for audiences aged 14+. Running time is 2 hours including 15 minute interval.
“ Ladies that Walk succeeds on many levels and is worth seeing. Its main achievement is capitalising on the humorous notion that dog-owners are indeed a unique breed.”
