by William Shakespeare, directed by Alix Cazalet, performed by the Pro-teens
Monday 4th & Tuesday 5th July 2011
The Pro-teens are proud to present one of Shakespeare's greatest and well-known tragedies in a site specific version at Basing House.
The play explores themes of treachery, ambition and fate amongst others and follows the multi-layered story of a great Scottish general, Macbeth. After the prediction of the three witches, who foresee him as King, and together with his wife, Lady Macbeth, Macbeth murders Duncan, the Scottish King. More bloodshed ensues, suicide, bloodied ghosts and eventually the demise of Macbeth himself.
This strong and powerful story will be performed using a variety of theatrical techniques and art forms in the Barn at Basing House, the perfect setting for this drama and whilst not a play for the fainthearted, it promises to be a thought-provoking and entertaining production nonetheless.
