Ceramics for All

Wednesday mornings 10am - 12pm (beginning July 2018).
Tuesdays and Wednesdays 6.30pm – 8.30pm. £140 for a 10 week course or £15 per session (includes all materials and firings). Please book in advance.

A chance to get creative with clay with one of our resident artists. Enjoy exploring a range of hand building techniques, surface texture, shape and form. Suitable for complete beginners or those with previous experience who want to refine their skills or work on their own projects under a professional tutor. You will have the chance to produce finished pieces as the course features decorating and glazing too.

Drawing and Painting for All 

Tuesdays 2pm – 4pm. £90 for a 10 week course.

A class designed for all abilities, where you can learn or improve your basic drawing and painting skills, explore and experiment with different media and effects, or do your own thing with support and advice on hand. Reference material and some specialist materials provided. Beginners can learn and progress with their preferred subjects, developing their skills and style with constructive support.

Drawing and Painting for Beginners

Wednesdays 10am – 12pm. £100 for a 10 week course or drop in for £13 per session.

These classes look at drawing in all its forms using a wide range of media, the importance of sketchbooks and how to develop your work beyond the drawing process into painting and relief printmaking..

Life Drawing 

Mondays 6.30pm – 8.30pm.  £160 per term.

Life drawing can be the ultimate tool in your art box; studying and depicting the human form is a fundamental skill that can underpin your drawing and painting practice. All that’s required is good observation, large sheets of paper, basic drawing materials (e.g. charcoal) and loads of enthusiasm.

Painting and Drawing for Pleasure 

Tuesdays 10am – 12pm  £95 for an 11 week course.

Covering a variety of subjects, with mediums such as charcoal, pastel, pencil/graphite, watercolour/ink and acrylic, with one mixed media project each term. Students are encouraged to work in whatever medium they prefer. All skill levels welcome. Get help with colour mixing, colour harmonies/contrast, composition, watercolour washes, perspective and much more. Come and discover the joy of using colour and paint.

Painting and Drawing Techniques

Tuesdays 7pm - 9pm.  £100 for a 10 week course.

Looking at various ways of working in both drawing and painting, exploring different media and subjects. Once a term you’ll look at the work of a well-known artist, and make a painting that reflects what has been gathered from the study of that artist. Charcoal, pencil, ink, conté, pastel, acrylic, paper, and other media will be used during the term. Get help with colour mixing, perspective, and composition. All skill levels welcome.

Watercolour for All

Mondays 10am – 12pm. £88 per person for a 10 week course.

Aimed at beginners and students with some experience of watercolour as a painting medium. Develop as a painter with exercises such as sketching, colour mixing, shadows and tone, exploring landscapes, architecture and still life. Tools and materials needed: student/artist quality watercolours, a watercolour brush and watercolour paper.
