The Play in a day workshops can be offered as a minimum 3 hour workshop, whole day or can run over a week.
Fairy tales
3-7 year olds

Create the costumes, set and act in a performance of some of your favourite fairy tales – become a fairy, Cinderella, an ugly sister or kill some serious dragons!!! You'll learn how to act out the stories and to make costumes and puppets – maybe even change some of the endings!!! A fun filled morning or afternoon with a performance to parents at the end and the chance to take everything you make home with you!!
Charlie and Lola
3 -7 year olds

Now is your chance to recreate Lauren Child's hilarious ‘Charlie and Lola' stories for real! Act all the parts and make all the costumes and props, then perform the stories to your parents and family at the end of the day!! And best of all you get to keep everything you make, so you can be Charlie, Lola, Marv, Lottie or even Sizzles the dog anytime you like!!!
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory or The Witches
7-11 year olds

Re-create the characters from one of Roald Dahl's best loved books in just one morning/afternoon! You'll create the script, play all the roles and make the set and costumes for a very special performance at the end of the session – and best of all you get to keep everything you make!!!

Always wanted to go to Hogwarts and learn to be a wizard? Ever wanted to be Harry, Ron or Hermione for just one day? Fight Lord Voldermort and play Quidditch? What are you waiting for? Come along and pretend to be your favourite characters, recreating some of the most popular sequences from the books and creating brand new situations for the characters, this workshop gives you the chance to pretend to be your favourite character for just one day and create the costume and props to take home!!!

This workshop looks at the process of creating a play from documentary source material. Focusing on proteus' production process to create ‘The Elephant Man', this workshop looks at the various methods used to create theatre from published articles and personal reminiscences. Suitable for budding actors, directors and writers, this practical workshop aims to enable participants to learn skills and techniques to help them create their own pieces in the future.
Writing and devising for the stage

Designed specifically for those wanting to have a go at writing a script for the stage or create a play from an idea, this workshop unlocks the tricks of the trade and provides an insight into the processes a play undergoes from idea to script. Suitable for beginners or those wanting to widen their creative writing skills, participants are encouraged to bring work in progress or ideas along.
